2016 was a banner year for women and sport in Canada, but statistics reveal that we are still far from having a sport system that is fair and equal for girls and women. Where do we go from here? This session will provide a review of the current landscape and the key factors that are informing CAAWS’s (Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport) vision as the leading voice for women and sport in Canada. Through discussion, participants will have a forum to explore the major themes and to provide input to the strategic direction for women and sport, both nationally and provincially. Participants will leave with greater insight into the landscape and opportunities to advance this topic in 2017 and beyond.
