Inclusion and equity for girls and women in sport is a growing priority for funders, governments, and society at large. It can also be an effective strategy for expanding the pipeline of participants, coaches, officials, and leaders. Aligning your organization with these priorities and this potential will help to position your sport for greater long-term success. This session will explore the efforts, impacts, challenges and learnings of two PSOs that have introduced initiatives aimed at improving gender equity in their sport. Drawing on these insights, the session will highlight key approaches that leaders and organizations can take in advancing their own initiatives.
Competition is an important part of the sport experience. Finding the right competition experiences are critical to positive athlete and team development. This session will introduce the concept of meaningful competition and how sport leaders can examine their competition structures and formats through a meaningful competition lens.
